Deciding whether to rent or buy is a very personal decision. Finances, parenting style and your child's maturity level all come into play. For this reason it is very important that you have all the facts at your disposal.
Coast Band Music doesn’t play games when it comes to selling & renting instruments.
We discount
every instrument we sell.
When circumstances permit, we offer even deeper discounts.
We stand
behind our instruments; we often manufacture them ourselves.
Our
rates are always low and our instruments appropriate for students.
Sales
tax is charged on all rentals, as required by California law.
Be aware of misleading programs that combine the sale & rental of instruments.
Here is an example of how this sometimes works:
The customer rents a violin for the school year, at a cost of about $250. On returning the instrument, $170 of rent credit (taxes, maintenance & insurance are usually excluded) is applied towards the purchase of a new $600
violin (these programs typically apply to the full retail price), resulting in a $430 price to the customer. Buying a new, highly discounted violin is often less expensive (and much more straight-forward).
