Since receiving her BA in Music, Cathy has dedicated herself to Music Instruction.   She has taught Music in the Irvine Unified School District and has maintained a very full schedule of private violin/viola/cello students for more than 15 years.  In addition to her teaching duties, Cathy has coached string groups for Santa Margarita Catholic High School and organized student quartets and Home School Orchestras. 

Cathy works with students from age 4 to adult.  Her teaching techniques are innovative and she has had wonderful success working with gifted students as well as many with various degrees of learning and physical difficulties.  In an effort to improve on the accepted music pedagogy, she has written various music books for young students.

To Cathy, each student is a work of art, in progress.  She customizes each assignment and works diligently to make sure that her students learn good practice techniques, making their daily practice more productive.

Cathy came to Coast Band Music in 2001.  Her students love her.
