"Everything For The Student"
“I
believe that every student has a different learning style and I try to teach my
students in ways they can understand.”
Bernard
Jain received his degree in Violin Performance from The Eastman School of Music
in
Angeles Philharmonic), Eudice Shapiro, Lynn Blakeslee and Oleh Krysa. At the age of 16, he was the youngest member,
ever, of the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra Institute.
During his 20 years of teaching, Mr. Jain has developed
very strong opinions about the science/art of teaching music. He believes that talent is developed
and that every student can succeed... the two necessary ingredients are
a desire to improve and the willingness to put in the time and effort necessary
for that improvement. He is extremely patient
and realizes that most students will not be professional musicians... yet
he also knows that playing correctly is actually easier (and more rewarding) than
playing incorrectly. “I want all my
students to have a good experience with music, so they can enjoy it for the
rest of their lives.”
Bernard
is particularly adept at preparing students for auditions, as he is well-experienced
in the audition process. In addition to auditioning
himself, he has served on several audition committees.
