Playing since 1949 and teaching (elementary-high school music) since 1964, Barry Kagan is an experienced and well-established instructor.  He has been teaching in the Irvine area since 1981 and has been with Coast Band Music since 1987.

Mr. Kagan has studied with renowned artists (in New York and California) and has performed professionally in orchestra, concert band, chamber music and jazz/dance band settings.  He has a Master of Arts in Music and is public school certified (California and New Jersey).

Because Mr. Kagan emphasizes tone quality, intonation, musical style, rhythm, part preparation, etc., he is frequently recommended by school music educators.
