Born and raised in Orange County, CA, Amy began playing guitar at age 9.  She studied rock, classical and Spanish-flamenco.  She is currently earning her Master’s degree in Guitar Performance at California State University, Fullerton, where she studies under world-renowned classical guitarist David Grimes.  She frequently performs with the Fullerton Guitar Orchestra, and also performs solo acts at local restaurants and private events. 

Her teaching career and her love for music has taught Amy to work well with children as well as adults.  She believes that strong technique and an understanding of basic music theory are the key elements of building a strong musician.  Her students learn to read notation, play scales, chord progressions, composition techniques, and build a strong repertoire in their area of interest.  She holds annual recitals so that her students gain performing experience.  Amy teaches popular, rock, folk, classical and flamenco styles.
